Making an insulation using NEXLER Superdach 20 bituminous felt should be carried out according to the technical design, in accordance with the current building regulations and the detailed guidelines for the design and execution of insulation contained in NEXLER Insulation Systems and the Technical Data Sheet.
The bituminous felt can be used in moderately sub-zero temperatures (down to -5°C) in dry weather, and an adhesive of suitable temperature and consistency should be used to bond the cross overlaps.
Do not carry out insulation work during strong winds and precipitation.
NEXLER Superdach 20 bituminous felt is designed for waterproofing steep roofs on wooden substrates made of boards or OSBs as a single-layer insulation and as an underlay for discontinuous roofing materials such as tiles, metal roofing tiles, bitumen shingles, etc. The bituminous felt can be used as a top layer in multi-layer coverings consisting of traditional bituminous felts, including for single-layer renovation of such coverings. Self-insulating bituminous felt is intended for roofs with a minimum slope of 20° (36.4%) and as insulation under discontinuous coverings with a minimum slope of 14° (25%).
NEXLER Superdach 20 bituminous felt should be mechanically fastened using roofing nails with or without washers on a wooden substrate. Nails on the longitudinal and transverse overlaps should be placed every 15 cm. All overlaps must be thoroughly glued and bonded across their entire width. For bonding overlaps, it is recommended to use cold-applied bituminous adhesives, e.g. NEXLER Arbolex Aqua Stop, NEXLER Adhesive for Bituminous Felt and Shingles or NEXLER Bitumen Roofing Sealant. Maintain a bituminous felt overlap min. 8 cm wide along the length of the felt strip and an overlap min. 12 cm wide at the joint perpendicular to the length of the felt strip. On roofs with a slope of less than 50%, the bituminous felt strips are fixed parallel to the eaves, and for slopes above 50%, fixing perpendicular to the eaves is recommended.
